Chantel Chani Christie is a recording artist, model, actress and author. Chani is the United States Youth Ambassador for HIV/AIDS Awareness, as well as a YMCA Youth Spokesperson. Hot on the heels of her bestselling debut book, I Want to Live: A Teenagers Guide to Finding Self Love, Chani will release her second book, A Girl Has to Look Good! A beauty, fashion and lifestyle Guide. This teen sensation is just getting started!

With the 2009 Martin Luther King, Jr. Excellence in Hip Hop award already under her belt, she has no plans of reducing speed. She has already garnered much attention in the music industry with her debut album entitled My Dream selling out twice. My Dream is also the work of a number of great producers in the recording industry. Producer Ralph B. Stacy, who has worked with recording superstars Paula Abdul, Pink, Mario, and many more, had this to say about Chani- Chani is a breath of fresh air and a producers dream. [She] is great to work with because of her versatility as a singer. Chanis upcoming, and much anticipated, new single is sure to make her a force to be reckoned with.

Chani, currently a junior in high school, has a plan to lead the youth worldwide by not only educating them about HIV and AIDS, awareness but also through her music and books. Beginning her modeling career at the age of three, Chani has over 100 fashion print and runway appearances to her name. She is currently cast to star in the new screenplay, Proud to be a Colored Girl, an adaptation of the new bestselling book by the same name, and Chani is sure to light up television screens everywhere in this role.

"I feel as though teens will listen to teens. More so than a parent or guardian speaking down to them, teenagers prefer talking, as well as listening, to their peers. I am beyond blessed to be in a position where I can have a platform to speak to the youth and stress the importance of practicing safe sex, although abstinence is key," says Chani, speaking about her ambassadorship as the United States Youth Ambassador on HIV/AIDS awareness. "A lot of times teens fall victim to bad situations that they become involved in, I want to be a positive role model and encourage them to do the right thing. Go to school and finish their education, set goals and aim for the moon. I feel as though the sky is the limit. If you believe in yourself, have faith that you CAN do whatever you put your mind to and have a positive attitude, you can accomplish everything you want, Chani said. Chani Christie is intelligent beyond her years and a role model for youth and adults alike.

I really didn't know what to expect when I read this book and was immediately happy I got it! This 15 year old shares the life issues of our teens better than any book I ever reviewed, a quick and easy read and very entertaining as well. --Laura Johnson (author)

Men sometimes forget that there are more women in the world then men. They think they can't get a date because there aren't any single woman, or because they available women are too picky. There's no chance that the reason you can't get a date is your fault, is there? Instead of spending another weekend watching the tube, find out how to attract women.

Instead of getting up and starting to search ways on how to become effective dating companions, they end up sulking in one corner and making more awful mistakes in getting to know women.

Of course, there is always a way to erase that stigma that most single men have dreadfully imposed on themselves. Mastering our five ultimate dating tips can immediately make you one of the most sought after bachelors overnight.

Begin by deciding that you are dateable. If you think and act as if you aren't worthy of a date, you won't get one. You don't have to handsome, just lovable. Women like nice guys. You are one, aren't you?

The first thing that you need to do is to check yourself in the mirror. You've probably heard of all the sentimental gibberish about "beauty" not being a subject of physical appearance. In truth, it is and you have to accept that harsh fact. If you can't make yourself look like a celebrity, at least you should try to look presentable for your date. Make sure that you smell good and are suitably dressed for the occasion.

Personality is mirrored by your manners. Whether you're a person of meager means or someone who owns half of a countryside estate, your manners and conduct will speak for your true self. Women always favor a gentleman over a man who is rude and arrogant.

Pay attention to your lady. Listen to what she is saying with words and what she is saying with body language. You can tell if a woman is receptive or uncomfortable. If she's not comfortable, try to set her at ease. Avoid being overly aggressive. Just be relaxed and friendly.

Women like men who are attentive without being intrusive. A sense of humor is an invaluable asset for a man. Everyone likes a good joke and a good laugh. Keep your date entertained. If she looks like she's losing interest, change the subject, or ask if she would like to go somewhere else. The first date should be all about the lady.

The best way to win a woman's heart is by complimenting her. A simple compliment such as, "You look beautiful in your dress," or "You have a great smile," can score you unlimited points in the dating arena. Woman like feeling appreciated, and that's the exact thing that you make them feel when you throw them a compliment.

Magic has always held a certain fascination for folks regardless of their age. There is no substitute for the feeling the audience has when an accomplished magician holds the stage and makes things appear and disappear with smoky abandon under colorful lights. Kids are affected just as much as adults are when it comes to trying to figure out how the tricks are done, and to keep a bunch of kids entertained for hours, all you need is access to easy magic tricks for kids that they can handle and perform.

For a trick to work for kids, it should be simple. Kids have a short attention span and are not very dextrous, so to avoid their becoming frustrated; you should concentrate on only using easy magic tricks for kids that are attuned to their abilities and mental level. They want to be able to pull off the trick and impress their friends, so keep it simple and yet look amazing.

Because of the fact that they are kids with undeveloped motor control but a real desire to learn and get the trick right, the tricks that you choose for them should be something they can latch on to quickly and learn easily so they can focus on their presentation. With easy magic tricks for kids, the presentation is the key, because if they can learn the trick down pat, and yet maintain an easy line of patter for the audience; then they can do a super job of entertaining.

Motor control is a big issue for kids when they are at these young ages and one thing that easy magic tricks for kids makes sure of, is that the tricks are simple enough and not too demanding of dexterity so that young kids can do them easily. Trying to grab an errant coin, or flipping a card and making it disappear, or making a ball roll in and out of a cup or pocket are hard enough for an adult, never mind a small child; so keeping these tricks very easy is of utmost importance.

If you are looking for a source that these easy magic tricks for kids can be found or purchased, there are numerous free standing party stores or novelty shops / magic shops that carry them for a nominal price. Another source is the Internet. The net has hundreds of sites that promote magic tricks in all degrees of difficulty, and with just a small amount of searching, you should be able to find what you need. The prices for the easier tricks are not that bad either, usually averaging just a few dollars per trick to books filled with them for just a bit more.

Utilizing items from around the house and using them to perform some simple tricks, are the hallmarks of these easy magic tricks designed for kids. Usually they use cards or pencils, string, wax, erasers, boxes----all kinds of regular items found in the household----and are designed so the kids can learn them quickly with a little bit of practice. Some use balls and cups, some can make a coin disappear in the bottom sliding tray of a box, or use a deck of cards for all kinds of little tricks.

Most kids have a very active imagination and magic tricks only add to the awe that they already have concerning the world and how it operates in general. They want to be a part of what is happening around them, and when it comes to magic, that certainly is the case. When they have access to easy magic tricks for kids, they are able to learn and perform these easy tricks themselves; and they will be able to impress their friends and family, and in their eyes----that's what matters most.

Entering the year, the Bengals defensive line looked to be a lot more robust. But the doubt remained whether they might be able to overcome a few of the weaknesses of last year's squad. Let's narrow down the 3 essential facets as I see them.

by Marlon Wingo

Going into the season, the Bengals defensive unit looked to be a lot better. But the doubt remained whether they would be able to overcome a small number of the weaknesses of last season's team. Let's narrow down the three fundamental areas as I see them.

The team rarely got to the quarterback in the 2008 season, and when they did, it normally came from the linebacker position.

At some point in the game versus Denver on Sunday, the team registered three sacks, all of which came from the defensive front. DE Antwan Odom recorded two sacks, including one big one in the 4th quarter, which knocked the Broncos out of field goal range.

Jonathan Fanene was responsible for the other sack.

Presently, I'd say the defensive line seems better in the area of rushing the quarterback, but there is room for much advancement. A lot of that comes from the other DE, Robert Geathers, whose unpredictability continues to be a concern.

During training camp, the defensive line seemed like they were going to take things up a notch, with respect to stopping the run. The signing of Tank Johnson was destined to help in this area.

For the game versus Denver, the rush defense was rather pedestrian. There was nothing that stood out, however the d-line did not let up any big plays either. They allowed an average of 3.8 yards per carry and 75 yards.

That's a step in the right direction, from a downright yardage standpoint. If you give up less than 100 yards on the ground, you're giving your franchise an opportunity to win.

It would be nice to see the yards per carry average fall to 3 or less, however. While Tank Johnson saw a fair share of double coverage, he nevertheless made his presence known with two tackles and adds a swagger of toughness to this defense.

August 12th, '09 was a bright, sunny Wednesday morning in Canada. Since I worked at the Rogers Cup, I had admission to the grounds and had specially requested the day off so I would be able to go check out all the professionals' practices. It was indeed a rich draw with the top 10 competing throughout the day.

At 11 that day, a buddy and I walked over toward Court 4 where the world's top ranked player, Roger Federer, was set to arrive at within 30 minutes. Already jam packed with about several hundred people, there was very little room to move.

As the time neared, the place was filled with people who anxiously waited to get a glimpse of the Swiss Maestro. With the sun scorching at 95 levels fahrenheit, we watched him warm up and we saw him hitting balls. To be frank, it was rather unexciting and was supposed to go on for 2 hours.

So, gradually, we squeeze out of the crowd and arrive at an open space. I look up at Court four on the opposite side to see a tall, lanky competitor dressed in a pink Nike T-shirt and white shorts hitting some balls. I look closer and indeed came to see it was Juan Martin Del Potro.

As he arrived at the exit gate, there were 6 fans waiting for him to have his autograph and he did sign. As he wrote on my picture and proceeded to my pal, I said "I wish you the best of luck in your competition today."

Del Potro turned to me and had a huge grin on his face and claimed "Thank you so much for your support." He seemed to be extremely pleased about what I had said to him.

As he won yesterday, the irony of this scenario just came to my mind. The fact that basically not a soul was at hand to watch him and Rog had a ton of fans. Sometimes, it is better to be left alone than to be relentlessly followed.

Del Potro played a wonderful match this week and is completely worthy of his championship. Great job!

As parents we need to continually challenge our teens with new adventures. Summer opportunities for teen are nearly endless. As with any other summer programs, there are many advantages. One of the greatest for an adventure camp is to visit and explore new places and meet new people.Teen Summer Camp

Before you get down to choosing a program, you need to be sure that your child is ready for this type of program. You need to be realistic about your teens personality and readiness. See a movie Teen Adventure Camp. There are five questions that you should ask yourself:

* Flexibility! It is important that your child easily takes what comes their way. Life on one of these trip is not going to be like back home. If your child finds travel and change difficult or takes a long time to adjust to new situations and people, then a tour may be difficult and less enjoyable. Should yur child be shy its best to discuss your child's personality with the tour directors.

* You need to be realistic if your child can meet the physical demands of the trip? Your teen must be in good enough shape for the hiking, biking, mountain climbing or camping. Being willing, eager, and in good enough shape to participate is a must. Remember, motion sickness, maybe your teen should consider trips which do not involve long bus rides.

* Mature and responsibility are a must. Can your teen handle the independence of a teen tour? Are they mature in their decision making? How do they do with peer pressure? Often, these programs give teens more freedom than they have at home. Be sure you know how your child will react to this kind of freedom and independence.

* Is your teen organized? Your teen will be responsible for packing and unpacking their belongings at several locations.

* Does your teen want to go on this type of trip? If your teen is unsure, you may want to look for another activity. These trips are expensive and demanding. Though your teen may be apprehensive, you want to hear that she is looking forward to the challenge and is interested. You must find a trip that matches your child's personality and interest.

Swift Nature Camp is unique among teen summer camps in that we provide teens a special opportunity to make friends in a relaxed and fun-filled environment, to build self-esteem and independence, and to challenge themselves with new physical and creative activities. We realize teens want to do things for themselves and are bored by a "normal" camp. So we provide an Adventure Camp program with loads of opportunities for you and your cabin to leave camp and go out into the big open wild. Trips may include Appostle Islands, the International Wolf Center or find your way to the Mississippi River from Camp. Youth Summer Camp

Being a young teen is never easy. Sometimes you are treated as a child and sometimes you are treated as an adult. During this time period many teens begin to start looking for a job or ways to make some extra money. This is definitely an adult type activity and it is something that requires responsibility.

If you are a teenager who can sing, write, or paint you may be able to get a job that requires those skills. If you are trying to get your first job you will want to get something that is not too demanding where you can have some fun and perhaps do something that aligns with your skills. You will also want something that has some flexibility so that you can continue to do other activities as well.

A good idea might be to start contacting adults you know and putting the word out that you are looking for a job. Friends of your parents and parents in your neighborhood might be able to hook you up with someone who needs help and is willing to give you a job. You should also start your job search in your local town at places you might want to work.

If you are good with children, try applying part-time in a day care or as a tutor. You could teach children, fellow teens, and even fellow adults if you have some knowledge in music, science, match, or any foreign language.

Some teenagers have the entrepreneurial spirit in them and are able to think of services they could provide that their neighbors might be willing to pay them for. Mowing lawns, weeding gardens, washing cars, babysitting, and pet sitting are some of the common things teens do to earn part time money. If you are good at those things and good at selling your services, you might be able to work during the summers by getting all your own business and end up doing very well.

Teenagers that are good at writing and doing things on the computer may be able to make some extra money online. Many teens have done very well designing websites, selling their graphics, and doing other things that they know how to do to people online who need their services. The online world is another arena that provides opportunities for enterprising teens that was not there 10 years ago. Teenagers who show creativity and are able to market their skills and talents will have a good chance of earning money during the summer and beyond.

It is never easy being at an age between 13 and 15. Your parents sometimes have a hard time deciding on whether to continue treating you as a child or as an adult because youre in the stage when you are not even sure yourself. Getting a job towards earning your first paycheck might just do the trick in convincing them that you are responsible enough to be trusted more and be allowed to venture out in the world on your own.

If you are a teenager who can sing, write, or paint you may be able to get a job that requires those skills. You should also start your job search in your local town at places you might want to work.

Teenagers that are good with children might find a job being a tutor or at a day care. Students that get good grades are sometimes in demand to teach other students throughout the year and help them get better grades.

As young as you are, you may start a small business of your own if you think you have what it takes. You could sell a product around the neighborhood like custom-made shirt and others. Be creative, opportunities are limitless.

The Internet actually has a lot of opportunities for budding journalists out there as well. There are quite a few young teens that have made a fortune online designing avatars, graphics, and layouts for the likes of MySpace, Plurk, and other networking sites. You could search Facebook and other reliable online sources for freelance writing jobs. You could even do further research on how to earn through blogging.
